Ingredients :
3 dl of milk
50 grams of baker’s yeast
800 grams flour
200 grams butter
250 grams powder sugar
Salt
2 grams of saffron
2 eggs

- Melt the butter in a pot, add the milk and
leave it aside to cool.
- Mix the yeast and the ground saffron in some
milk, mix with the lukewarm milk, and add, in the same order,
mixing with a wooden spoon, sugar, salt, half of the flour, eggs,
and the rest of the flour.
- Knee the dough directly on the tabletop, make
it thick and put it apart and a warm place. When the dough has
doubled in volume, break it, and form long ribbons, to be arranged
in the desired form.
- Paint with beaten egg to brown it, add raisins
or almonds on top, and cook in a pre-heated oven (225°) for
6 to 8 minutes.
