We visit the medina of the Red
city, former Almoravids’ capital : Koranic school
(medersa) Ben Youssef, Palace of the Bahia, Saadian tombs, …
and of course Jemaa El Fna square, listed on intangible World
Culture Heritage (Unesco), where you can admire the Koutoubia,
one of the most beautiful minarets in North Africa, and visit
the gardens at its feet. Outside of the medina, we also visit
the Majorelle Gardens |

| Day 3 |
Marrakech - Essaouira |
 |
We visit Essaouira,
whose strong walls remind the city of St Malo and protect a
typical medina. Essaouira is a city known for its artists, craftsmen
(especially wood sculptors and inlayers working mainly with
thuja and citrus) and sport opportunities (winds are a real
treat for surfers), and has a very active fishing harbour. |

| Day 4 |
Essaouira - Tiznit |
 |
We drive along the coast and its preserved landscapes
till Tiznit. We are in the middle of Argan
groves. Argan is a wild tree that grows only in Morocco
and gives excellent oil, used in cosmetics and for cooking.
We spend a relaxing time on the beach in Agadir. |

| Day 5 |
Tiznit |

Early in the morning, we visit the ornithological
resort of national reserve of Sous-Massa. In the afternoon,
we visit the fortified walls and medina of Tiznit, a small city
which was the stronghold of El-Hiba, one of the most famous
opponents to colonization. Tiznit is now the city of silver,
and its craftsmen produce beautiful pieces in the traditional
art of Jews and Berbers. |

| Day 6 |
Tiznit - Taroudant |
 |
Before Tafraoute, we admire the Phalanx rock,
and then arrive in the city, capital of the Almens, the most
famous tribe of Anti-Atlas. It is a very beautiful pink-ochre
city, with traditional square houses. We pursue by Aüt
Baha and an impressive down-road to arrive in Taroudant, former
Saadian capital, enclosed in huge red-ochre strong walls. We
visit the medina and its large souqs. |

| Day 7 |
Taroudant - Marrakech |
 |
A very interesting drive by Tizi-n-Test road,
through small Berber villages, with many kasbah along. Near
the pass, the landscape becomes wilder, and we can enjoy a wonderful
panoramic view of Sirwa mountains and Sous plains. After the
pass, in the middle of the green and red valley we pass by the
impressive kasbahs of the Goundafas, and the splendid mosque
of Tin Mal. We drive by Asni to finally reach Marrakech. |
